Subo Filipino Kitchen is a Filipino restaurant based in Chicago's Albany Park neighborhood, which is considered the the "Most Diverse Neighborhood in Chicago". The restaurant itself serves the most iconic Filipino dishes in simple bowls to both local Chicago students and everyday commuters riding the Brown Line from the Kimball station across the street.

With this in mind, I designed a logo that would evoke a traditional Filipino identity with a modern twist. Inspired by the big spoon and fork as seen in Filipino households and kitchens around the world and in Chicago, the brand's minimal typography incorporates general Filipino culture and the Tagalog word Subo ("to feed") for both familiar and new audiences to Filipino food.
